After a rainy Friday and Monday, the big question on everyone's mind is how is the water quality. Monday's sampling was surprisingly good, with no beaches closed and the only surfable beach with a warning being Hendry's. More rain in the forecast for Friday and Saturday.
With all that rain and cold, get your inner island going this Saturday, Nov 8 at 9:00, where Bar Absinthe is presenting Tiki Bar Night, a Benefit for Domestic Violence Solutions. Featured will be the most excellent Blue Hawaiians who play surf styled music which you can hear samples of on Amazon. $12 at the door or $10 in advance at the Arlington ticket office or the club. Absinthe is at 500 Anacapa St. in downtown Santa Barbara.
With a 34.48% voter turnout, Santa Barbara elected Helene Schneider, Das Williams, and Brian Barnwell to the city council yesterday. Weather these 3 folks can fullfill their promises to work on the housing problem, freeway congestion, and restoring community remains to be seen.
