If you ever checked out California Coastal Records Project you know what a great resource it is for exploring the coast. However, it appears Barbra Streisand doesn't think so and is now suing the creator of the project.

New Report for Wednesday.
Stuart Holmes Coleman
is coming out to the mainland to promote his bestselling book "Eddie Would Go", which is "the only biography of one of Hawaii's greatest heroes." He'll be doing some book signing at Borders on State St. on Thursday, June 26 @ 7:00. From all of the reviews I read on Amazon, It seems like a worthwhile outing. Stay tuned as Stuart may give a lecture somewhere in town also.

Report from yesterday's Lunar Eclipse Session.
Yesterday was the official start to Eastern Pacific Hurricane Season. It looks like nothing is brewing or even close to brewing yet.
The campaign to Save Ellwood Mesa is ramping up ahead of the June 30 deadline to raise $6M. Newspress owner McGaw (whom many surfers dis-like for her trying to shut down public beach access near her estate) has given $1M to the cause, putting the total at $2.3M, amost half way there with 45 days left. There is also a 5k run on May 31 which will raise money for the cause. You can even donate online with paypal. One thing I'm not sure about is what happens if you donate money but they don't gather enough to buy the land. Do you get a refund?

Esteban is selling his 9'0" Clyde Beatty for $500.
Apparently it is in excellent condition, and check out the graphics on this bad boy. It has a center fin slot and FCS fins on the side. Email him here by taking out the "**SBS**" in the "To" line so he doesn't get any spam.
Lack of Surf Reports: I don't have a boat and driving has proven futile. If you didn't get Jack Johnson/Ben Harper tickets in the few minutes it took to sell out two shows at the bowl, you can join me with a lawnchair up on APS in August. A big crane fell over the I-5 today making many a horrible San Diego commute and apparently shutting down power to Scripps, which may have been why the CDIP swell model was down all day, as well as the Scripps Pier Camera. A paraphrased PSA from an SBS reader: 'If you are the type of person who launches a boat from a hoist somewhere along the california coast, and this hoist is broken for some amount of time, and you are forced to launch your ship from the beach, please use "Beach Launch Wheels" instead of driving your big trailer onto the beach and destroying life and limb, or the people who make rules for that beach may ban beach launchings altogether, running it for everybody.' Again, this is a PSA from an SBS reader.

Surf Report from Saturday down in San Diego. The buoys are still showing some swell from the straight south, I'm out the door to figure out how many miles it takes to locate it.
Leokane Pryor will be performing
"A Song of Old HAwaii" at Victoria Hall on Saturday, May 31 @ 8pm.
"The newly renovated Victoria Hall Theater will be transformed into a tropical stage, with strumming ukuleles, fragrant Hawaiian flowers, graceful hula dancers and the beautiful and exquisite falsetto sounds of Leokane Pryor-Hawaii's "voice of the heavens."
Tickets are $25 and can be had at TicketMaestro.

I'm getting heckled for the lack of reports. It's been a dry spell for me. Check out the April Wrapup for some more heckling. Also, a short little wrap-up from a fun day of surfing down in Baja last friday.
