$2 Million in tax dollars to restore sand to Goleta Beach was re-appropriated by mother nature into offshore sand bars and submarine canyons during this week of storms. No doubt the pro seawall camp will use this an example of why we need a seawall and the pro managed retreat camp will use this to justify their desire for a more natural solution. Surfers would like to suggest if the County were to spend $2 Million to create sandbars, perhaps they could place it at beach that is more westerly facing.
