We had a steep NW swell filling 
in Friday evening and leaving today. It's angle made waves smaller south of Pt. Conception but here is a myriad of reports seeing what could be found in the south county. Photo: Dubock.

An interesting update from a reader on last Tuesday's Sands session. This information is not posted to scare or deter surfers from surfing.
"I just wanted to notify (if you are interested) that Tuesday morning I got bit (or pinched) by some sea-animal while paddling out (in fairly shallow water) at Sands... Big blue crab? Stingray? Little shark? Who knows... The cut wasn't very big, just deep, and it caused my ankle to bleed for a while and then get very swollen later that day (and still is now). Anyway, moral of the story: be careful when you step around shallow water at sands.
More of the story has been added to that days surf report. Also Monday's surf report got updated because the dolphin encounter was left out.
