Since a lot of groms read this site when they aren't out dominating their local break, here is info on the grand opening of the Santa Barbara Teen Center which happens tomorrow, Saturday the 17th of March @ 1235 Chapala. Santa Barbara Surfing says to groms: Do an A.M. session at your local high tide friendly break then head over to the teen center for some post session Dance Dance Revolution.
Teen Center info: A recording studio with strings, percussion, vocal booth, mixing stations, a G 5 and instructors to teach you. Pool/Air hockey/ foosball table. Snack Bar. A study with a couch, table, and four computers for any use. A living room with ottomans to chill on, two plasmas, two Xbox 360's, and a PS3. An Arcade with D.D.R. and two arcade stations. Programming will include dance classes, music classes, and cooking demonstrations. Member ship is 15 dollars a year, there is financial aid if necessary.
Grand Opening info: Starts at 12, free hot dogs till 3:00 P.M. Ribbon Cutting at 3:00 P.M. Concert starts at 5:00 P.M. and goes till 9:00 P.M. Event ends at 9:00 P.M. Bands are Die Don Romero, Tigers in the City, Immaculate Fatality, Roderick Usher, and Submersible Hearse. 103.3 will dj the event for a bit, and there will be a salsa dance presentation. Activities include, free Henna tattoos, Big Gloze Boxing, Dunk Tank, Bunjee Run, Sumo Wrestling Suits, Q-tip jousting. All free, first 35 teens receive a free membership, there will be no cost to go in the Teen Center on Saturday.
