Brandon Yates Contest
The 3rd Annual Brandon Yates memorial Surf Contest will be held Sunday, May 6th at Emma Wood State Beach. Info at SurfOne news here and here.

The 3rd Annual Brandon Yates memorial Surf Contest is slated for Sunday, May 6th at Emma Wood and will again be a team event, but this time, 6 person teams. You CAN have 6 pro's on 1 team if you want, but we will be imposing a "handicap" for girls, old guys over 30, groms, and novices. Judging will be on a standard contest scale. Contact darryl@skateone.com for any inquiries. We will also have a $250 Reef Best Maneuver and a Scosche $200 best wave award. Scores are aded up after the contest and the top 3 teams are awarded.

Surf Machine
Those crazy Aussies are at it again. When they aren't inventing orange boogie boards that define a generation they are creating mini "Surf Machines". You can check it out at www.surfmachine.com.au which has some photos of the $45 desktop tube machine.

Bay area surf rockers with Santa Barbara ties Mother Hips is coming out with a new album and you can check out their new track "Grizzly Bear" for free here. Update: They are playing SoHo on May 26th if you want to check them out.
