Bobby Makes Semis

At the ASP contest in Mundaka, Bobby Martinez had the highest scoring single wave of the event in route to beating Philip MacDonald in the Quarterfinals. He advances to Semifinal #1 against overall tour leader Mick Fanning which will be held Saturday or Sunday. Since Kelly Slater (Overall #2) and Taj Burrow (Overall #3) both made Semifinal #2, Mick can't win the WCT title until at least the next contest. Bobby could have a big outcome on all three of those chaps title contentions. As CI team riders, and fellow American contenders vs. Aussies, it will be interesting to see if Bobby will affect Slater's chances of claiming another world title. Photo: ASP.
