The season's first NW swell was predicted to come in last week, a pulse landing on Tuesday and keeping things good for the week. Although the waves could be classified as ridable, this swell was certainly a classic early season wiff. Hitting the most outer buoys at 12 feet around 14 seconds, the Harvest Buoy never saw anything more than 7 feet with short periods and steep angled. It was perfect fall weather early in the week, some offshores holding up the knee high waves into picture perfect lips. Later in the week the wind howled but after that stopped the weekend had some decent windswell to ride. Here's a rundown on the last weeks sessions:
- Tuesday, October 2: Deveruax. Ankle to Knee High
- Wednesday, October 3: Campus Point. Knee High
- Thursday, October 4: Campus Point: Knee to Thigh High
- Friday, October 5: No session, Wind Storm
- Saturday, October 6: Rincon. Thigh High
- Sunday, October 7: Rincon. Thigh to Waist High
California Paddle
Corinne lets us know about some Stand Up Paddlers (SUP)s that are cruising down the California coast with a stop at Sands yesterday. Their goal is to raise awareness for plastic pollution. You can track their position on this map they should be in the county for a few more days.
