November Overview | 1995 Overview

Date/Time:
Friday, Nov. 24th, 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm
Location:
Rincon, CA
Weather:
Sunny with mild onshore breezes and feathery high clouds.
Conditions:
Fair. Wind chop building yet tide dropping.
Swell:
WNW groundswell, shoulder high on the inside and overhead outside.
Comments:
Thick crowd... 100 people between Indicators and Rivermouth counted as I suited up and stretched. A lot of visitors unfamiliar with the break and a lot of dropins, a lot of those resulting in collisions and stupidity.

Best wave I got was head-high and walled up, breaking fast from just inside Indicators through past the large trees and the whip/lasso lady's house atop the Cove lineup. All down the line, not much ripping and after a few hundred yards I could only stand there and smile...

The neck is pretty much cured. The best fix was the combination of ice and an ace bandage wrap for simultaneous compression. Also took 400 mg ibuprofen 3x daily and mixed in a menthol rub between icings.
