Santa Barbara Area Surf Report

April Overview | 1996 Overview

Date/Time:
Friday, April 5th, 7:30 am - 9:00 am
Location:
Rincon Point / Stables
Weather:
Sunny skies. Calm winds at Rincon and warm Santa Anas in Ventura.
Conditions:
Pristine glassy conditions.
Swell:
Very small, a disappointment, knee to waist high.
Comments:
The expected 17s groundswell arrived yesterday afternoon as expected, but peaked already. So bummed!

One longboarder out at the indicator going after mushy peaks. A big crowd in the cove for no apparent reason. I already got my share of mushy thigh high crumblers, don't need to share with 20 people.

Drove south as far as C Street, hoping to see maybe some south swell sneaking in, but nothing showed. The Santa Anas were lightly fanning back the peaks, lovely conditions and so warm, but so small!

Here's hoping we get some kind of swell to go with these offshores. The Santa Anas are forecast to strengthen through the weekend.
