Santa Barbara Area Surf Report

April Overview | 1996 Overview

Date/Time:
Friday, April 26th, 10:30 am - 2:30 pm
Location:
Rincon Point
Weather:
Thick marine layer obscuring all observations. No wind.
Conditions:
Clean and glassy, so nice.
Swell:
Funky combination swell ledging up some waist-head high rollers.
Comments:
Finally decided to go out after jonesing all day yesterday while the buoys raged and finding today that possibilities of a lab meeting were slim. Plus, I overslept.

Timed it well though, scored some good shape on the low tide except for a half-hour lull through the lowest stage of it. Fun waves, easy drops with fat shoulders good for roundhouse cutbacks. The rivermouth section was lining up steep and quick.

Best waves in a while. Warmer water, light crowd, glassy, and consistent. It almost felt like a good winter day.
