Comments:
Was hoping the Santa Ana's would hold throughout the day for an evening session... spent the whole day suffering through visions of heaving combo peaks fanned by offshores, sort of a miniature version of the January 1st day that the mags kept raving about.

Instead drove south to my old surf spot, looking for some early season summer lefts off the submerged point. Got mostly closeouts and even some fast, steep, short rights. The inside is still choked with sand and not lining up.

Scraped the top of my foot open on the rocks (no booties), now have a pair of 2 1/2 inch long gashes meeting near the base of my shin to form a "U".

On the drive back, Rincon looked small and fun, lining up well and around waist to chest high.
