Comments:
Tried out a new Quiksilver short-sleeve long-leg 2-mil springsuit that I picked up earlier last week at Just Surf'n in Goleta. Got a great deal on it and a copy of "Fluid Combustion," along with a pair of tickets to see the premiere of "What Next?" the new movie from Kozo Productions.

Wetsuit review: Nice. Kept me warm, in hindsight it might have been worth the extra 50 bucks for tape and titanium, but I'm trying to save cash right now. Super flexible and perfect for these late spring days when the water's still a little cold.

Movie review: Fluid Combustion had amping cinematography of gnarly Hawaiian waves. A little old (1994) but still fun. What Next? was hilarious, with great comedy sequences, shots of local breaks from Sands Beach down to SuperTubes, a lot of ripping in small waves, and a good J-Bay sequence, plus the inevitable Hawaiian pitchers. It would have been nice to see some in-the-water shots of Machado when he was ripping Rincon.

Surf reveiw: So-so... a big longboard crowd and backed off waves kept me in shape w/ a lot of paddling. Best wave was in the middle of the session, a great lined-up shoulder-high right.
