Santa Barbara Area Surf Report

June Overview | 1996 Overview

Date/Time:
Tuesday, June 11th, 8:00 am - 11:00 am
Location:
Sequit / Secos / Leo Carrillo
Weather:
June gloom and marine layer with light breezes off the fog.
Conditions:
Perfect glass. Some pinky-thin ripples coming off the rock.
Swell:
Setty SSW groundswell, from waist to shoulder high. Some head high sets every 30 minutes.
Comments:
Great session, light crowd, good waves, the only shortboarder out for most of it and got all I wanted by hanging really close to the rock.

Hard to pick out a best wave, usually a set wave was followed up by a good one inside the 2nd rock or by picking off another set wave on the paddle back after someone would fall on it.

Our illustrious President was sighted jogging along Will Rogers State Beach in Santa Monica, stopping traffic. Traffic was similarly lame to the north of County Line, cars coming by in sets of 40 along the 1-lane highway in mid-resurface.
