Santa Barbara Area Surf Report

June Overview | 1996 Overview

Date/Time:
Wednesday, June 12th, 7:30 am - 10:00 am
Location:
County Line
Weather:
Gloomy and overcast, some mist, light onshore breeze.
Conditions:
Good. Some windswell still showing, adding a little warble. A small amount of backwash/reflection off of the steep beach at high tide.
Swell:
Knee to waist high with infrequent 5-10 wave pulses from waist to shoulder high.
Comments:
Early morning check of Surfer's Knoll revealed lumpy and smallish peaks. Thought perhaps there would be a little more swell energy further south. Zeroes and Sequit both looked to be weak, so after much deliberation we (Robert Taylor and I) opted for the "Park 'n' Paddle".

Fun rights earlier with the occasional bounce from the backwash. A longboard would have been the best equipment choice for today to handle the slow rolling peaks. Later got some lefts setting up in the middle of the beach, then a few more rights. Light crowd, got our share of the sets, came out tired, happy, and a little cold.
