Santa Barbara Area Surf Report

March Overview | 1996 Overview

Date/Time:
Thursday, March 21st, 10:00 am - 11:30 am
Location:
Rincon Point
Weather:
Overcast and cool, light variable breezes.
Conditions:
Fair to good. A little slow on the high tide.
Swell:
Small and inconsistent, shin to thigh high, waist high sets.
Comments:
Drove as far south as the southern side of Channel Islands Harbor. The south and northwest weren't mixing well to form any good peaks, so slogged back to the home break.

Paddled out at the stairs to get some exercise. The indicator had some little lefts from the south swell ghosting in. The rivermouth had the best size and shape but was hampered by the thick kelp tugging at fins. Still, got a few carves in, here and there.

Last wave was an insider in the cove that still had great shape despite its puny size, rode it right up to the path by the freeway and headed home.
