Sequit / Secos / Leo Carrillo
Weather:
Hazy morning sunshine followed through by strong clearing winds.

Semi-clean, only because of the kelp. Blown out nearly everywhere else.
Swell:
Remnants of SW groundswell with some NW windswell atop it, waves from waist high to shoulder high with some larger sets.
Comments:
A long bout with a homework assignment kept me dry on Monday and Tuesday, when the best of this little south swell came on. The surf report was calling for blown-out sloppy conditions, which was my cue to hit it and get it uncrowded.

The morning crowd hung tough for an hour or so, then faded with few coming out to fill the slots. Dropping tide sucked away at the swell as well, losing consistency and shape. Mostly just fun drops with the occasional wall leading into another section to hit.

Suffered a bout of Sandman-like aggression as a pack of neophytes came out, hooting obnoxiously at every lip as it smashed them back into the beach and generally getting in the way. Am I getting old and crochety already? Tried to get stoked for them when they actually got waves, but was more stoked once they were gone. I wonder what's wrong with me.

On the drive back up I realized why I was so P.O.'ed... MtV is at it again, this time planting themselves on the bluffs just between Heavens and Staircase. Giant plastic "moon men" and fake cacti are already visible from the highway... they appear to be constructing a new "Beach House" for the summer.

Campus Point was on fire today. Literally.
