Santa Barbara Area Surf Report

November Overview | 1996 Overview

Date/Time:
Friday, November 22nd, 11:00 am
Location:
Rincon Point
Weather:
Mild and sunny with some high clouds coming from Ventura.
Conditions:
Poor, a little morning sick and lumpy.
Swell:
Waist high warbly lines in the cove, poor shape. Indicator trying to work but failing.
Comments:
Walked along the rocks up from the cove to take a look at the rivermouth flow. Lots of brown soupy water in the lineup and trash along the beach, more than enough for a few handfuls. Even picked up someone's Mighty Morphin Power Ranger... yesterday's toy fad is today's beach garbage.

Forecast is for a new WNW possibly later today. Conditions are likely to be marginal. 1:00 pm update: The buoys along the central and northern California coast are beginning to light up with a 10-15 ft. at 14 s. swell. Judging from the travel time down the coast, it looks to land on the inside at around 4 pm this afternoon.

Long range, look for another swell at the start of the week on Monday or Tuesday.
