Santa Barbara Area Surf Report

October Overview | 1996 Overview

Date/Time:
Wednesday, October 30th, 3:00 pm
Location:
Rincon Point
Weather:
Cool, dry, and sunny, with southwest clearing winds.
Conditions:
Victory at sea.
Swell:
Knee to waist high warbly lines in the cove.
Comments:
Gave it a miss this morning after checking out small but uncrowded Devereux. Too small to shortboard it and the 9'2" is still in the shop.

Stood in the sun and shelter by the firepit watching the brown and deep blue plume of sediment push west out of the rivermouth and extend all the way out towards La Conchita. All sorts of nasty bits probably entrained in that runoff, probably be best to steer clear of any urban breaks for the next few days.
