Santa Barbara Area Surf Report

September Overview | 1996 Overview

Date/Time:
Friday, September 6th, 6:30 am - 9:00 am
Location:
C Street
Weather:
Warm and sunny, with faint dry winds pushing side-offshore.
Conditions:
Good to excellent, a little wrinkle to the water surface.
Swell:
Fading and inconsistent out of the south, waist to chest high.
Comments:
Grabbed the longboard today and got some great gliding rides across the lineups. Super-warm once the sun came out. Didn't pearl at all, got a lot of fun cutbacks in including a really fun roundhouse on a left (backside).

Surfer Bob got the best wave I saw all morning, shoulder high and moving from the showers and out of sight somewhere down by the pipeline.

My best waves were a few set waves that came through the inside lineup across from the pipeline's entry to the water, took the last wave all the way in to ankle-deep water and jumped into the wet sand as the 6 1/2" center fin started to drag. Hoot!
