A disappointing month, especially given the quality waves we had in November and the early season opening in Rocktober. This month we paid the price, with none of the typical west swells and no swells that persisted beyond two days. The month started off poorly with a storm system that threw up a big SE fetch and blew out the whole county. As I later discovered towards the middle of the month, Ventura was staying clean and offshore during these times, and the best waves of the month were had there. Came down with the flu right around Christmas and was out of it through to New Years, but the swells went as flat as they ever do, outer buoys dropping below 3 feet at some points.
Highlights of the month were a couple of sessions at Stables and a single wave from the indicator to about halfway through the cove at Rincon before the south winds that plagued the point all month hit.
Out of ten reports, got good surf about half the time. Average wave height was in the head high range, and I didn't break out the semigun or the longboard at all.
