Santa Barbara Area Surf Report

January Overview | 1997 Overview

Date/Time:
Saturday, January 18th, 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Location:
Devereux Point / Isla Vista
Weather:
Simply beautiful Cali weather. Sun, light winds, temps in the 60s.
Conditions:
Clean and glassy into the evening.
Swell:
New west swell, a little inconsistent with sets chest high to overhead.
Comments:
Spent the day hanging out with Bettye... arranged a date w/ my wife in advance and didn't want to bail despite the big buoy readings and her attempts to get me to go surf.

Towards the end of the day we got out to the point to look at the sunset and take some pictures. Got some great reflection shots of sunlight on the water. A tandem pair was out on the I.V. reef, stylin'. Don't see that around here very often, we were both pretty stoked by it. Got some shots of them as well.
