Despite the waves being below my "GO" threshold, went anyways.
Met up with Surfer Bob and after some debating on the shoreline
(Heavens? Zeros? Secos?) and ruminating through a pair of
binoculars, settled on Secos.
The payoff came early with several good sets rolling through and only four of us out to pick them off; Robert handled the windswell sections and flat spots easily on his longboard while I had to pump and work quite a bit to get around them. The approaching crowd jumped on our uncrowded sesh rapidly, and by 1 pm we were wondering what the hell happened. The waves seemed to steadily drop and arguments began to break out amongst the new arrivals. Never really got any waves after that point except for a few that I had to share with about five other people. Felt more like a Saturday than a Monday, but we comforted ourselves in the knowledge that we did indeed get the best of it. |
