April was a poor month, as has been the pattern of late, with hard spring clearing winds and an unusually strong allergy season induced by a record-breaking rainy season. So I spent a lot of the month out of town, working, and otherwise doped up on antihistamines.One of the highlights was surfing Secos for the first time this year, paddling out to the outside reef rocks on my shortboard and getting a lot of good waves. The downside didn't surface until the next month -- turns out I was surfing in a sewage spill from the campground and got knocked down hard for a week by a nasty infection.
Out of six reports, got good surf four times. Rode twice on the longboard. Average wave height was in the waist to chest high range.
