| Comments: |
Washouts of both lanes of the 101, north and south, as well
as Calle Real, traffic diverting way up north around Cathedral
Oaks. Campus closed down, and I.V. a big sogfest. Our apartment
building took a big hit last night from the eucalyptus tree
outside our bedroom window, just a 3" thick branch, hope the
main trunk stays up.
Beach closures: Hammond's, East Beach (at Mission and Sycamore creeks), Leadbetter's, Arroyo Burro / Hendry's, Hope Ranch, Goleta Beach, and Sands have all been closed by Santa Barbara County Environmental Health Services due to high coliform (total, fecal, and enterococcal) counts. Beach advisories: Advisories for high coliform counts (below the closing standard) have been issued for Jalama, Arroyo Quemado, Refugio, and Rincon. 1:30 pm update: A WSW swell is starting to fill in with the tail end of this storm but the winds are still high. Surf smart and don't get sick. |
