Pulled into a parking lot with only three or four cars in it and
one guy suiting up. It didn't look too good from the stairs but
there were definitely sets with size rolling off the indicator.
Nobody out! Perhaps because of the
water quality? I decided to hope the sun's
UV would sterilize things enough while I was out there.
Paddled out into a lineup of only three or so people, the waves a little burgery and difficult to get into. Conditions cleaned up a lot as the tide began to plummet and the crowd thinned out even more until I was alone out there for a handful of solid sets through the rivermouth and a few houses beyond. Fun, wide-open walls with lots of peaks, bowls, and flat sections to play around. Finished off by picking off a few in the cove including a thick one that I spun late for after someone missed the paddle for it. It looked only shoulder high as I turned around but jacked and kept building across the inside of the cove, until it was pushing to half again my height as it closed out past the call box. Just had to hoot. |
