| Comments: |
The lineups seem to have been through the wringer with the
past bout of huge surf; there's a bit of a wide section atop
the indicator that wasn't previously apparent, even at this
tide. Still as fun as can be, especially on the minus tide
with some steep and hollow sections making up for the slack
in the size.
Alternated between getting a bunch of waves at the start, a lot of futile paddling in the middle of the sesh, and then a bunch more waves at the end. My sessions have often seemed to go that way over the years past, especially here, but it hadn't happened yet this season. A fierce run of ten or more waves to start off, I'm amped, then I get shut down and burned to the point where I'm getting pissed, then Huey lets up and I'm stoked again. Took a few way late drops and missed them, and botched one floater recovery and got rolled back over the lip at least two extra times. No barrels but saw one or two from the shoulder. Pretty good time, all round. |
