Again like yesterday got denied on the predawn patrol by
an early AM frontal passage. Couldn't sleep, though, and
after a leisurely dawn breakfast of eggs, toast, taters, OJ,
milk, coffee, and failed attempts to lure Bettye to consciousness
with same, hit the road to check the 'con.
Saw lots of bump out there, but figured it was at least worth getting wet and trying the cove for the first time in a while. Bumped into OOP in the parking lot and he agreed with my call, so I rushed out there after him. He took the low road and I took the high one, and after one wave from the rivermouth to inside the cove we met up again. Sectiony but makeable waves, the lump not too difficult as it tended to clean up on the wave face as westerly chop does here, doppler-stretching flat instead of peaking up like a SE chop. Didn't stay out long, got a few rides of a hundred yards or so and headed in after getting one to the freeway. |
