Robert mostly hung out down inside of the windsurf rock and caught the reforms from there to past the stairs, while I stuck to the outside reefs on the regular lineup. The tide created quite a lull for everyone, but aside from that the apparent due south angle kept the peaks shifting and closing out enough to spread the crowd around, at least for a while. Eventually the weekend crew proved to be too much for a civilized session, and rampant overcrowding ensued.

So, my session went like it often does, with a bunch of great waves to bookend a long stretch of missed waves or ones behind two or three people. Things finally turned on again towards the end, got a couple of fast little ones and a big one that covered me up a few times in the pocket just past the body rock. I ordinarily tend to hang out more on the open face instead of right in the curl; the different perspective was a kick.
