This was an uncharacteristically poor month for surf. While December isn't usually our best month (January and February tend to rock with more solid swells), a month like this is a rare thing. Our traditional Thanksgiving swell came late, and solid Rincon swells were rare.

Signs of hope: A new board, and the appearance of an excellent sandbar in the Cove the one day I surfed Rincon. Watched it repeatedly barrel a bunch of hot kids as I warmed up by the firepit; it would be a month before I'd get in there myself.

Out of a mere five reports, got good surf five times. Didn't ride the longboard or the semigun at all, and average wave height was around shoulder high.
