Santa Barbara Area Surf Report

  July Overview 1999 Overview

Date/Time: Sunday, July 25th, 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm
Location: Campus Point
Weather: Sunny skies and light to moderate sideshore breezes.
Conditions: Poor. Windswelly and choppy.
Swell: Windswell, 4-5 ft at 6-9 s on inner channel buoy.
Surf: Fairly consistent peaks to shoulder high with fast-fading lines to knee high and smaller.
Comments: Needed water time with minimal drive hassles after the south swell debacle. Sunday afternoon meant going through downtown was out of the question. A bit windy, maybe Campus is working? If nothing else I can paddle around at Poles.

Short-lived rides off the top of the point, some fun peaks followed by a cutback across a mushy shoulder and then see how it forms up on the inside. Trunked it without a leash and it felt liberating. I think I had more fun than yesterday.
