Just two swells this month, with the second one being the best and actually landing at the opening of spring. It landed at the perfect time, right as the 3rd Annual Clean Water Classic opened. Good waves all through the contest and into the ensuing week were the reward for raising $9000 for an engineering study to put the local homes on a sewer.Appropriately, I surfed at Rincon for all this month's sessions. The cove was consistently the place to be with the perfect conditions repeatedly making up for its typically smaller size. Highlight was a double barrel in one such perfect wave. Rode with Gioni a couple of times as a storm rolled through; the better of the two sessions again had some hollowness as its highlight.
No surfing lowlights, except perhaps the last day of all that swell, spent in total junk Rincon. The real lowlight was the flat spell that capped off the weakest winter in my memory.
Out of eight reports, got good surf six times (75%). The waves on average were overhead. Rode neither the longboard nor the semi-gun.
