Santa Barbara Area Surf Report

  March Overview 1999 Overview

Date/Time: Saturday, March 27th, 7:30 am - 9:00 am
Location: Rincon
Weather: Mostly clearing conditions with some clouds over the local mountains. A bit breezy.
Conditions: High tide and morning sick at dawn, junked out later by southwesterlies.
Swell: NW wind waves and swells, 8-10 ft at 14 s from 310 degrees.
Surf: Sectioning out, short rides, waist to shoulder high.
Comments: With all the good waves and conditions we'd had the past week, I'd have not paddled out today. SurferBob needed a few waves, though, having missed a few sessions during the week. I borrowed 'Mr. Scott' and joined him after we delayed the early AM go-out for bad coffee and greasy donuts. Still don't much care for that board myself, but I traded it with Toby for his too-narrow and too-thin 6'6" and he was pretty stoked about it. Got maybe one or two good waves that peeled a little bit over the sandbar, the rest of the session was just hanging out and dealing with the chop.

Busy with a deadline now, the report won't be updated until Saturday April 3rd at the earliest.
