Comments:   Should have known after yesterday that Ventura would really be the call; in fact people in the lot warned me that "eh, it wasn't that good," but I just didn't have time to drive around any more to look for better surf.

Even though the tide was under 4' all morning it felt like one of those mushed-out 6'+ high tide mornings, with very inconsistent surf. Occasional shifty peaks would pop up and bowl but then back off quickly, leaving little more than a drop and no shoulder.

Best shape was probably in the rivermouth, where I managed to eke out a few decent rides and turns. The cove was just too small and after drifting in there I caught a small wave and bailed the session to get some work done.
