Comments:   One of my best sessions of the year. Paddled out, as I often do, just upcoast of the rivermouth to avoid the currents and sections at Stables. Planning to catch a couple quick closeouts before joining the rest of the crowd down at the peak, I was startled to see a longboarder cruise by me on a 50-75 yard right with excellent shape, from way up towards Cobbles and the RV campground. Only 4 or 5 guys out there... hell, I'm on that!

Hung around a bit inside and wide of them, looking for the swinger sets and got too many to count. Many totally shut down across to the river but those that didn't were fast and a hell of a lot of fun. Most takeoffs were behind a looming section that turned out to be easy to beat, with a fast down the line trip before fading out into shorebreak.

Best waves of the day, though, were at Stables after I worked my way inside, 3 set waves in a row. Overhead and a half and grinding through from the outside peak to about 100 yards inside of where I normally sit. I've gotten hollower waves here and bigger ones, but none this perfect, and never three in a row. The second came right into my paddle-back line from the first, and I only sat a minute after paddling all the way back again to get the third. After that, just 3 waves, I was done.
