Date/Time: Friday, March 10th, 10:00 am - 12:00 noon
Location: Rincon
Weather: Sunny and warm, very light southwesterly breezes.
Conditions: Excellent, no chop, a very slight ripple on the water.
Swell: Fading NW swell, peaked overnight, now 9 ft at 14 s from 300+ deg. on outer buoys, 5-6 ft at 13 s on the inside.
Surf: Waist to chest high.
Comments: First time out in a week. Felt great to be back in the water again. Lots of fun cove waves to the freeway on my longboard, including several of the set waves. Got a heels-first noseride, lots of alternating high line trim and carve work. Riding leashless (as I always do on my 9'6") had me a little cautious at first, but by the end of the session I was really into it.

Some young guys were out putting on a great style display, and even a couple surfers riding shortboards and getting a good share. The rivermouth looked really fun, a bit peakier. I saw one kid up there follow a hard whitewater rebound off a cutback with a air boost 2' above the lip off a closeout section.

After 2 hours of longboarding, called it a day and grabbed a tasty carnitas burrito from El Sitio on Salinas, and am managing to get a fair bit of work done. I'll miss winter and those short drive times, especially with gas prices going up. The run to Leo Carrillo or north of Pt. Conception is gonna hit the wallet hard this summer.
