Fun setty waves breaking off the reefs and rolling all the
way through. Swell a little too south, as some of the sets
were hitting harder over at the windsurf rock than the usual
lineups. That had me thinking of surfing the 'Bu instead,
but glad I didn't as it was a bit setty and inconsistent --
Malibu in those conditions on a Sunday would have been a
miserable experience!
Here, the crowd was relatively light, people not staying out for very long. I must have seen two or three rotations of packs of guys come and go during my 4 hours in the water. Got a bunch of waves and gave away more than I got. Guys asking "you again?" when I would go. Yeah, me. Again. I'm like a bad habit. Lots of good cutbacks and fun floaters off the inside racetrack. Kept going until I couldn't go anymore. Shape was still a bit mushy, and by late afternoon on the waves got funky, perhaps with a new swell filling in that was even more a direct south. Exhausted and sore by the time I got home, and the jacuzzi wasn't much help. And there's still more swell today (Tuesday) with some 4' readings showing. Aaagh... surfed out... you go. No? Me again? |
