Comments:   Salt water therapy. Had to get in the water today. It started with a 6am wakeup call from one of my cockatiels, Mel, who got freaked out and thrashed himself bloody. So, into the car and off to the vet. Then it turns out I've left my wallet in my wife's car and she's taken it to work. So I have to go back and get that, then drive back again to pick up the bird, then home, all of this through Thanksgiving weekend traffic. By midmorning I'm fried and can't think straight. I have to get wet.

Super crowded here, hard to get waves, but I blow off stress by grabbing lots of little ones on the inside between the rocky/reefy outside lineups and the rivermouth. Little brown sandy walls. Got amped watching one of the Secos locals charge hard on an overhead-and-a-half set wave, taking off just behind the peak and bottom turning past me through a nice bowling section. Her son is now 2 1/2 months old, she told me later.

My turn came next, first hooking into an outside wave that got by a few others in the pack. Shoulder hopped it, faded the bottom turn, and got a sweet crouching barrel, the liquid roar all in my ears. Next one was even bigger, better, this time dropping behind the peak, catching a few tube sections and some long walls through to the inside. Howled at the end of that one and had to call it good, I'm done, thanks Huey, let someone else have a turn.
