Comments:   Two acquainteces who will go un-named called in "sick" today and headed for the Gaviota Coast. I met them out there for awhile and it was a fun longboarding session. I got the "You shoulda been here an hour ago", but it was fun enough for me. Funny thing is, I got a wicked sore throat and maybe shoulda called in sick, but the guilt would kill me.

Waves were breaking off of a point and then a little reef 30 yards down coast. The biggest sets would break off the reef and not the point so you had to choose weather you wanted to sit at the point and get average waves or sit in what felt like the middle of the ocean and wait for some mackers. Sometimes they were head high out there. Caught a few long ones that took me all the way in, and also pulled a few barney moves on some late takeoffs when they jacked up on the reef.

A great session. Great shape. Weekend could be fun too.
