Comments:   Shorboarded again during the Saturday session with Unkle and Steve. Decided to walk up the coast which was a bit tough with the rising tide. At one point the waves were crushing us into the seawalls so I started to paddle out with Unkle and Steve trying to forge ahead. By the time I got out i had been sucked down the coast a few hundred yards. However the current on the outside began to suck us up the coast. That was nice, you almost didn't need to paddle back to our lineup after catching a wave. The best waves were early on, before the high tide began to shut things down. A few bombs came in outside of our position and cleaned us up every now and again. Caught a few good sized waves that felt like ocean open waves, not quite pitching out, just rumbling along. I'm managing myself much better in bigger waves on this board. Thinking back to my Oct. 30 session where I just couldn't handle the speed and power and how i just kooked out, I've learned a lot about this board already this winter.

My leash broke about 2 hours into the session. Luckily the wave spit it out and I only had to swim 20 yards or so to get it, and it didn't crash into the rocks. I found a way to tie it but by then our peak was shutting down. We paddled down coast to a longboard spot and it was 9:00 and no one was out. Size was considerably smaller, head high at best and closing out. We caught a few here before realizing our arms were completely useless and headed in.

At coffee in Ventura the storm rolled in. It would end up raining all day and all night. Glad i finally got some waves.
