Comments:   Drove around yesterday evening hoping the wind would die and things would clean up. No hope, it was a windy mess suitable for kite surfers and wind surfers. However the spots I did check showed considerable size potential so I was amped for today if the wind died down. Woke up and it was sunny and mostly windless. Took an early lunch to avoid the minus tide. Headed out with Kristi and Bill and hit up Coal Oil. Fairly uncrowded with only 3 guys at the point and 3 at the block house. The sets were very in-consistent but when they came they were getting close to head high. But most waves were chest high. Still a lot of slop leftover from all the wind yesterday. Shifty peaks and indecisive waves.

Caught 2 or 3 of the nicer set waves and in bewtween had some smaller ones. Not a big wave count day as it was shifty it was difficult to get in the right spot. Speant some time at the point but had more success down towards the 2nd peak in front of the block house. Saw some nice rides by Bill, fully dominating with his Hip Pack on.

Saw a few nice head dips by some guys surfing at the hairy edge on the ledge.
