Santa Barbara Area Surf Report

Date/Time:   22 October 2002 13:30-15:00

Location:   Gaviota Coast

Weather:   Sunny

Conditions:   Fairly Clean with some Mush too.

Swell:   6.1 @ 14s @ 295°

Tide:   3.0 and falling

Surf:   Swell looked a bit smaller then yesterday. Sets were about head high, with a overhead rogue coming in every now and then. Only 2-3 waves per set. Some barrells.

Comments:   Day 4 of this swell and I can't complain. Looks like it will be gone tommorrow so I had to get out there. Checked a few places and it was either crowded or sucky, take your pic. The crew out there was the most friendly I had ever met in the water. Everyone was stoked and had a friendly word or two. Way better then battling it out with the 50+ guys I saw at Rincon this morning.

Drove up from LA this a.m. and saw C-street, the PCH, and Rincon on the fly. Rincon did look fun but the density of guys out there is insane.
