Comments:   The swell was vastly depleted today. I mistakenly thought I could still ride the shortboard, but I should have brought the longboard. Deveraux looked small but fun, only about 8 folks out. But i don't think i woulda had much action on my shortboard so I ventured to Sands, which was stupid considering the water quality warnings. About 25 guys out surfing the low tide beach break. Kelp and Tar and bad smells everywhere. Highly disapointed at first but when it started getting dark and it started to thin out I caught a few memorable waves that made it worth it. Nevertheless, it was still better then being back at work.

I remember why I don't surf sands much though. Dirty stinky water with lots of crowds and attitude. Still, it is the closest surf spot to my work so i think i'll be there more then i think.
