Santa Barbara Area Surf Report

Date/Time:   26 October 2002 3:45-6:00

Location:   PCH

Weather:   Sun poking thru some clouds.

Conditions:   Swell was building all day. Sets were chest high but as tide dropped it seemed to be more sporadic.

Swell:   5.6 @ 14s @ 300°

Tide:   4.0 and Falling

Surf:   Fun waves with good shape. Was a little confused by the tide, some were backing off and you could tell with a little more size the rides would of lasted much longer.

Comments:   Took the longboards out after doing a ritualistic Fall de-wax, ding fix and re-wax session. Something about a freshly cleaned up and re-waxed board that makes you feel like you are riding a new board. The breaks today were not that crowded, people did a good job of spreading out. The waves were the best and biggest when we first got out there. The conditions got worse as the sun started to go down. Wave size was right on the verge of some shortboard fun but I'm glad we choose longboards.

Pizza, Beer, and Game 6 of the World Series was a nice post-session treat.
