A pretty weak month for me for surfing. Not that much should be expected from April. Wind, some rain, some more wind, and a few fun days for those that were persistent. I think the key is, you just have to go out and get some. Checking the buoys for swell and wind is just too frustrating. You just need to go. The buoys would almost always show pretty poor conditions, and when there was some swell there would be wind. Just go check it anyway. The month started with a couple of longboarding sessions down towards Ventura. The longboard is coming out more and more right now, and it's starting to feel good. A fun choppy dawn patrol at Rincon followed by an afternoon session at County Line that was glorious, altough up in SB it was cloudy and blown out. April 16th was the first day of fun surf at my lunchtime surf spot in North Goleta in over a month. The 20th was a fun longboard session up in Pismo and the 23rd a fun windswell day at Sands. Bring on some Hurricanes.
A mere 8 sessions. 5 on the longboard. 3 on the shortboard. Check out Surfline's April Report.
