Comments:
Time for a little Easter session up in Pismo with the Converse Clan. It was just K-dog, Bill and I and we headed for Bill's local spot near the pier. Conditions were great for Pismo. Instead of seeing 18 lines of whitewater coming towards you as you were paddling out you only saw a handful. It was actually possible to make it all the way out and catch waves like a normal beach. Millions and millions of by the wind sailors were washed up on the shore up here too, so it's not just isolated to the beaches I've been going out at. Water seemed as warm as SB, I was fully expecting it to be freezing after a few days of wind. It was actually a pleasent temperature.
For the first time in my Pismo sessions I surfed off of the pier and it was well worth. Usually it seems too crowded thier so we hang out at some random spot and get pummelled by freezing walls, so this was a whole different experience. The Pier, obviously, was setting up some nice peaks, but not just rights, but some sweet lefts that you could take towards the pier until you chickened out. It was good living. It was me and a couple of bodyboarders out there for most of the time, trading waves in relative harmony.
There was some wind out there but it was actually quite clean considering. A few waves pitched out and formed some juicy sections. However, there was no barrell riding nor noseriding for me on this day. Just a whole lot of waves, some great cutbacks, some late drops, and of course some spectacular wipeouts.
Our session was followed up by a spin in the new Hot Tub up there along with Corona's and the Lakers.
