Comments:
A quick jaunt down to Deveruax with Roget and Rio, them on longboards and I sadly on a shortboard. Waves were smaller then Monday and much smaller then Sunday. Conditions were clean, no wind to speak of, and great texture on the water. Tide was nice, but things were weird out at the point, waves were mixed up coming in from a few directions, so the cove and down towards the blockhouse was a better option yet smaller. I was the only shortboarder out there amongst 20 or so longboarders and I only caught a few waves the whole time. It was mostly a paddling exercise and a chance to watch a great sunset. Roget keeps saying he is just a begginner but he was catching plenty of waves and seemed to enjoy his first Coal Oil Point session. We surfed pretty late, at first you could see silouhettes coming towards you in front of the orange and pink sunset and then you couldn't see much at all. Roget got clobbered by a big tar ball at some point in the dark.
