Comments:
The Christmas Party last night was a bit over the top so it took until sunset to attempt another session. Hit up Leadbetter as the sun was setting and the moon was rising. Talk about a beautiful time to surf. The sunset was spectacular, all kinds of colors in orange and pink, and the hills were crisp and clear, a purple color with some big puffy clouds hanging below a few of the peaks in the Riveria. The tide was coming off a big low, but it was still working.
Amazingly smaller then down south yeseterday but still great form. Super fast (for Leadbetter) lines that would peel forever. My first wave off the bat was from out in front of the tree down to the shorebreak at the beach. The waves were fast enough that you didn't have to do the 'Leadbetter Fade' that much. You could point and go and every now and then cutback to the soup to make sure you kept your speed.
The moon was big and full and the light was reflecting off the windswept face as you were riding towards it. The wind was offshore and was sometimes grabbing a bit too much board and pushing me out of the wave either as I was trying to catch it or even after I was heading down the line. Must keep nose close to water.
Only a few souls out, and all with a good vibe. It's tough not to have a good attitude with such a beautiful sunset and moonrise.
