Comments:
Wild Bill was driving down from Pismo so a mid-day session at Coal Point was in order. Headed out with K-dog near the block house. Waves were small but fun and only a few folks out. Bill came out soon and we waited out the long lulls for our chance to catch some waist high ones. Waves would break forever, a bit slow and mushy at times but in certain sections fast and racy.
Water was uber clear. You could see schools of fish. 2nd day in a row there was a big crab on the kelp we were sitting near. I brought my disposable water cam to grab finish off the roll. Got a couple of good ones in situ. Waves certainly don't hold you up like they do at Rincon, it was tough to get near the nose but the cutback practice was good. In only a few months I've gone from an incompetent fool when it came to going back to the source, to now where I can cut to soup and make it back to the pocket as if I knew what I was doing.
K-dog and Bill were getting some good long rides. As I went in they stayed out and each of them caught a set wave that practically brought them to to the beach. Nice warm walk back to the car.
