Comments:   Again the tide was a problem this morning so I let myself sleep in and then meandered down to Rincon around noon with the longboard. I wanted to see if yesterday was a fluke that I had as much fun as I did. The tide was down a bit from my session yesterday so things were working out ok but their was some gusty wind in the early am which brought quite a bit of chop to the water. Hung out in the cove with about 40 of my favorite friends but it seemed that everyone was getting their share. Except for one guy. This guy was great because he was trunkin it but he had the amazing ability at calling people off of his wave even if they were 100 yards down the line. It was stupidly unneccesary. Since a lot of waves were sectioning out there was lot of insurance-like shoulder paddling going on. Which worked out fine, as soon as the shoulder paddler realized that guy was going to make it, he pulled out. Sometimes the guy didn't make it, and the shoulder guy took off. You know the drill. So this guy was hollering and whistling and yelling at people that were even thinking about paddling for the same wave as him, even if they were so far down the line he could never have possibly caught up to them. Besides that guy, everyone else was pretty mellow.

It was again a good session and I'm going to try to surf Rincon more this February as an experiment. Typically I just can't handle the crowds but for the sake of science I will. No Sea Lions this time, but Kristi did say she saw a whale breaching out of the water near Leadbetter.
